State Championship Saturday!

This past weekend, BBCS had the opportunity to participate in both the girls and boys GCAA Class A Varsity Basketball State Championships. The boys’ team had a great season and won first place in our region. The girls’ team had a more challenging season with some sickness and injuries, but did well overall.

Going into the tournament we felt positive, but knew things could go either way. Both teams won the first round of games on Thursday, but Friday’s games were going to be more difficult. On Friday, the girls played extremely well against a tough opponent and kept hustling to the end. The boys also played hard and came out with a win. This led to both the girls and boys teams earning a spot in the championship games on Saturday. Both teams started the championship games well by jumping out to an early lead, and never looked back. For the girls, this was the first basketball championship in program history, and the first for the boys since 2016.

It was a blessing to be a part of the teams and see all the love and support of so many family and friends. These student-athletes worked hard to reach this point, and we rejoice with them in their victory.
